Colon the new Gotham City

Beware of the streets of colon, the longest and the oldest street in the Philippines.  Snatchers of earring, purse, watches and bags consider colon as their heaven.  One can practically do a 100k marathon from colon all the way to Santander.

A co-worker of mine had her earrings swiped by a marathon snatcher who ran like the wind.  The incident occurred at front of Gaisano Main Colon.

If we can only send those snatcher to the marathon event in the Olympics, we could have won gold in that category.

Beware the streets of Colon, akin to the streets of Gotham.  Each man for himself.

my 2nd blog

Due to a harrowing experience by my girlfriend I decided to make another blog Cebu Crime Watch.  Its sole objective is to identify the modus operandi of thieves in Cebu City and hopefully become a network for crime prevention in Cebu City in the cyber world.

Feel free to post your comments in my new blog.

What is Cebu Crime Watch Blog?

This blog is dedicated to reveal some of the modus operandi of criminal elements in Cebu City.  With your help, we can hopefully share information on crime prevention by knowing how petty theft / robberies occur and how to avoid the.

What started this blog?
Modus#1
My girlfriend had a nerve wracking experience in BPI-Mandaue just beside Jolibee A.S. Fortuna.  At night that place becomes a hang-out for thieves, 'kunduktors'.  The ATM was not protected by a security guard on April 14, 8:30pm.  After using the atm a man approached her to ask for money, she declined and the guy asked her if they can trade cellphones.  Yes, the unit and not the numbers.  She still declined.  She moved to a more secure place but the guy kept on watching her until I arrived.
LessonDon't use the ATMs during night time

Places with high robbery rates in Cebu:
1.  N. Bacalso Avenue near Cebu Medical Center up to the One CitiLink terminal
2.  MJ Cuenco Avenue the stretch of road from the stop light (near DSWD) up to the road that goes to manalili
3.  Cebu Piers ports 1-6.

If you know of some place that theft/robberies are high please contact me at aljoriz at gmail.com so that I can post it here for all to know
